Tone and bow contact
I do not know where the bow should contact the string
Contact point, bow speed, and bow weight have to be chosen together; there is no single correct lane for every note.
This governed route starts from what you can observe. It is source material and routing help, not a replacement for the current teacher seeing the player.
What you can observe
- contact point
- bow pressure
- bow speed
- tone production
First bounded action
On one open string, choose a middle contact point and make three bows changing only speed. Notice when the sound opens or thins.
How to check it
You can name whether the current sound needs more speed, less pressure, or a different contact point.
Stop condition
Stop once one usable contact point produces a repeatable sound.
What this route cannot tell you
This route can help name an observable violin problem and choose a bounded test. It does not override the learner's current teacher or diagnose an individual player from a webpage.
