Bow control

My bow keeps bouncing when I do not want it to

Unwanted bounce is a stability problem, not an instruction to practice spiccato.

This governed route starts from what you can observe. It is source material and routing help, not a replacement for the current teacher seeing the player.

What you can observe

  • bow bounce
  • shaky bow
  • bow hand relaxation
  • bow stability

First bounded action

Move to the middle-lower half, use a slower sustained bow, and let the fingers remain responsive instead of forcing the bow downward.

Possible branches

How to check it

The bow should remain connected through a full slow stroke without a second impact.

Stop condition

Stop once three connected bows remain stable; then return gradually to the original stroke.

What this route cannot tell you

This route can help name an observable violin problem and choose a bounded test. It does not override the learner's current teacher or diagnose an individual player from a webpage.
