Vibrato
My vibrato is tense or my thumb squeezes
The oscillation is being constrained by excess fingertip, thumb, or hand pressure.
This governed route starts from what you can observe. It is source material and routing help, not a replacement for the current teacher seeing the player.
What you can observe
- tense vibrato
- vibrato pressure
- relaxed vibrato
First bounded action
Reduce fingertip pressure until the pitch almost fails, then restore only enough contact for the note to speak while keeping the rocking motion.
How to check it
The motion continues without the thumb clamping or the fingertip locking.
Stop condition
Stop when the loose motion repeats for ten cycles.
What this route cannot tell you
This route can help name an observable violin problem and choose a bounded test. It does not override the learner's current teacher or diagnose an individual player from a webpage.
